Are Users of Dating Apps More Concerned about the Environment?

Finding someone who shares our interests, values, and pastimes is frequently our first priority when it comes to dating and relationships. The environment is another issue that today’s singles appear to care much about. The environment and the effects of climate change are a top worry, according to recent research by the social discovery conversation game Magnet, created by Social Discovery Group’s corporate venture studio SDG Lab.

The study, which involved 1,000 app users, produced some surprising conclusions. For instance, more than 63% of respondents expressed concern about global pollution levels. This represents a rising social trend in which individuals all across the world are taking an active role in combating climate change.

In addition, the survey indicated that more than 66% of respondents thought that global warming was to blame for weather variations.

According to Tony Jacobs, CEO of Magnet, “Climate change has become a pressing issue in today’s world, with devastating consequences ranging from hurricanes to wildfires”. “By acknowledging the impact human activities have on the climate, app users are taking a significant leap in voicing their attitudes towards sustainable living.”

How do these Beliefs Affect Preferences in Dating?

Shared values may be a wonderful approach to develop connection. If two individuals enjoy the environment, they will probably enjoy themselves when engaging in conversations or activities about it. Couples may have more chances to connect, exchange stories, and spend quality time together as a result of this.

One survey participant said, “I think it’s important to be able to have conversations with people who don’t share your views,” when asked whether they would date someone who doesn’t care about the environment. You may better grasp other people’s perspectives and both sides of any argument by seeing things from their perspectives. However, if someone didn’t take global warming as seriously as I do, it would be a deal-breaker for me.

It’s crucial to remember, though, that having diverse viewpoints on some matters or themes does not always indicate that a relationship is poor. Diverse viewpoints might present chances for you to stretch yourself intellectually and think beyond the box.

As a different respondent explained, “I think it would be really boring if I only dated people who shared my views. I like being challenged and learning new things from the people I date. Besides, dating a nonbeliever is a golden opportunity to convert someone.”

Couples with dissimilar viewpoints might benefit from one another and deepen their understanding. Naturally, if one person is deeply committed to preserving the environment, he or she may assist the other in seeing the influence that may be had by making minor behavioral adjustments that gradually result in ecologically beneficial behaviors.

More to Think About

The participants’ concerns about the environment were notable, yet there was a surprising result: 87% of respondents were carnivores. Long-standing studies have shown a connection between eating meat and environmental deterioration, including deforestation, water depletion, and greenhouse gas emissions. Interestingly, despite the majority of respondents’ worries about climate change, the trend toward carnivorous diets continues, showing the difficulties in developing sustainable consumer behaviors.

Despite this, the study’s findings suggest that changing consumer behavior to be more sustainable is still possible. People are starting to accept responsibility for their influence on the environment as societal awareness grows. And it’s feasible that more change will occur if technology—like dating apps—is used to bring more people together around this crucial issue.

The Technique

The study’s data was gathered using “Daily Buzz,” one of the app’s main features. Each user receives a fresh, trending icebreaker question every morning to stimulate conversation. From lighthearted inquiries like “Is Elvis still alive?” to weightier inquiries like “Are we about to see the end of social media in America?” These conversation starters encourage relationships between those seeking in-depth and meaningful exchanges. Another feature that distinguishes the app from others is that if two users click and discover common ground, they may view each other’s genuine images.

“The Daily Buzz feature encourages meaningful conversations that start from genuine opinions about the latest happenings in the world,” said Tony Jacobs. “And by creating an environment where people can express themselves freely without fear of judgment or ridicule, we’ve created the perfect litmus test for human behavior. That’s what makes our research so authentic.”

Resolving the Issues

The research underscores the rising significance of climate change to people throughout the world by showing people’s views toward the environment. It also demonstrates the willingness of certain people to attempt to alter the views and behavioral patterns of others via the use of technology and attraction. Although there is still more to be done to develop sustainable consumer behavior, the study’s results give reason for optimism that improvements will soon be made.

Sarah Jones – Bringing Marginalized Communities to the Attention of Mainstream Media

Mass media have a huge reach in society and play a pivotal role in making people learn about each other. Despite the growing world of the internet and evolving technologies in the media, some people are still marginalized, and they do not get sufficient media attention to have their problems addressed. Journalists that cover underrepresented areas sometimes characterize their job in terms of a moral imperative that requires them to focus on long-term social challenges rather than impartiality or objectivity. The objective of journalism has never been simply to recite events in the manner of a scribe or to synthesize knowledge. Instead, the purpose of journalism in society — and the primary justification for preserving and protecting it — is to serve the public interest, which is consistent with the country’s objective of dignity for all.

Journalists play an essential role in bringing marginalized communities to the attention of mainstream media through their investments in journalism. Sarah Jones is the latest example of such a journalist who has dedicated her life to journalism and is the voice of the voiceless. As a journalist, Jones’ reports focus on underreported news. She is the essential mind behind launching a program called “Seen and Heard,” a current affairs and cultural show that focuses equally on communities normally overlooked in mainstream media.

Journalism does not seek truth in an absolute or philosophical sense but rather in a more practical one. Journalists are supposed to be as transparent as possible about sources and approaches so audiences can assess the information. Jones, as a journalist, relies on bringing accurate news to the audience and is a focused and driven journalist. Since every story has two sides, Jones looks for different angles of each story and how to best convey it to the audience. She has a significant talent for storytelling that focuses on all aspects: memorable visuals, attention-grabbing words, and the ability to tie it all together in such a way that viewers are drawn into the story.

Jones has long criticized mainstream media for emphasizing narratives above objective journalism. She covers issues that the mainstream media frequently overlooks, even when there is still a lot of material to cover. She rises to the occasion, presenting informative report after informative report. Jones aims to make a more informed public. She founded the “Seen and Heard” initiative to bring underreported stories to the attention of mainstream media. The program’s goal was to give equal exposure to populations who have been marginalized in mainstream media. Jones’ talent and vision are essential for the voiceless to be heard. She received much help and raised $8,000 in less than two months through Gofundme.com to fund the program’s pilot.

Jones has written a book that may be used to talk meaningfully with children about conflicts. Jones was nominated and attended the National Security Seminar at the Army War College’s request. Her work, “A Kids Book About War,” is a unique approach to a complicated issue with a simple concept. Her book has been a valuable resource for first graders in having a wonderful dialogue about current events, their thoughts, and their opinions on many topics, and it helps them feel heard.

Jones has filmed, edited, produced, and written her news pieces for mainstream media for years. Her stories have the power to reach out to a big audience and capture their interest. Her work has consistently stood out at every previous organization for which she has worked. Jones’s commitment to getting to the heart of the matter has distinguished her. She takes her profession seriously and works hard to ensure that the facts are correct and devoid of any disagreement. Her work is always well-written, extensively researched, and well-prepared.

When working as an assistant news editor for Al Jazeera America in New York, she was one of her division’s most efficient and detail-oriented staffers. Jones has previously held similar standards at BBC World Services in England, CNN, TRT in Istanbul, Turkey, and NBC Midwest. Her work and never-ending passion for social media demonstrate her ambition and love for the field. Her social media presence has established her as a famous and prolific online writer. Jones is also a notable podcast host of “Sarah Jones Break it Down,” which received a positive rating from CommonSense in terms of providing authentic and trustworthy information for more than 100 million children and families on a global scale.

To put it short, Sarah Jones sets a prime example of a journalist whose passion for the profession is evident through her work, whether it be her penning a book for the kids, covering stories about underreported communities and veterans, and even paying tribute to the fallen journalists

Laura Formentini’s Book and a Testimony to The Power of Journaling

Why do we suffer?

This is a controversial question that has many explanations going about it. You often find yourself on the brink of giving up going through grief. Questions loom over your head. Caught in the existence paradox, you seek meaning in your wounds. Your tears salt the gashes that are left from the aftermath. You are left with more questions than answers. Why did they leave you? Why didn’t you say what you truly felt before it was too late? If God is good, why are you suffering?

Laura Formentini is someone who has gone through heartache with the passing of her son, Blaise. It is unimaginable, the suffering of losing a child.

But how did she deal with grief? And was she able to derive meaning from it?

The answer isn’t in the destination. It’s rather in the journey that leads to it—the moments of sadness, nostalgia, and emptiness.

What you do with those feelings is the decisive factor that leads you to a place of peace, of catharsis.

Laura emphasizes the power of journaling to her readers.

The Power Of Journaling

When you feel alone, you can often find a companion in yourself in times of need. Journalling can help you have the right conversations with yourself as your grief develops. Often you find yourself resenting words of comfort from people. It is because sometimes, the heart wants to listen to itself and come to terms with the void left inside it.

Make a habit of journaling the next time you have negative thoughts and when you find the time or are ready, revisit them to see how far you have come.

Contrary to popular belief, journalling isn’t just an amalgamation of your experiences. Your journal doesn’t necessarily need to be filled with how your day went or a conversation at all. The spirit finds its ways to vent; according to the situation, the medium of expression can vary.

Laura Formentini chose poetry as her raw expression to let her emotional state flow through strokes of pen, etching beautiful fables and nuances that were cathartic to her and her readers. The rawness in her words is a testimony to what she was going through at the time.

She kept a journal every day to let go of any tension inside her. Her poems are a depiction of how her overwhelming pain progressed down to her eventual acceptance and healing.

The journey finally leads to a realization, a resolution.

The Resolution

That’s the thing about storms; they pass like everything else fleeting in life. What’s left are memories like little balls of energy powering your nostalgia. The resolution slowly sinks into the quiet. After you’ve found your peace, you have a story. A tale of triumph from grief, something that most people can’t seem to get out of.

You can either do two things with this story untold. Either you can let it be a book on your shelf, one you can dust off once in a while and keep to yourself. Or you can pass it on. Pass on the torch to light up the world of many others going through what you did.

It’s the legacy we leave on this earth that you are known for at the end of the day. Something you contribute to others. It may be your ability to touch lives with merely your smile, telling your peers to “rock on,” something Blaise does effortlessly.

Formentini took her documented journey through fables and prose and chose to encourage other people who are seeking shelter and solace under a tree. She gives her readers a ray of hope, like a warm beam of sunlight nourishing and nurturing the plant that will one day turn into an olive tree, a symbol of hope for whoever seeks it.

And the chain continues, one act of kindness rubs off another, and before you know it, the world starts to heal. It starts to transform with the metamorphosis of life.

This is why we’re here. This is why we strive. We’re here for good. Laura Formentini has set the benchmark for all those authors seeking resonance with their work. It will help them persevere and believe in their journey rather than the destination itself. Healing can only stem out of your pain.

Take the first step by picking up Twentyone Olive Trees. A work of art that gives you an escape, a safe space to vent your frustrations and sadness.

Carry the torch forward and continue a movement where people realize that death isn’t the end but a door to transformation.

Multiple Skills Offering Flexibility

Skill development has no longer been a matter of choice. It has now become imperative to adapt, survive, and succeed. We are working in an era where dealing with ambiguity, and disruptive trends are pivotal to success. In parallel to maintaining an academic awareness of the field, one has to review the career eco-system. Adapting skills and attitude is inevitable to succeed in these times and even in the years to come.

Employers today are moving away from hiring one person for every specialized position. Instead, they look for staff with diversified skills who can perform multiple duties within the organization. Because people with multiple skills are flexible enough to adjust to any environment and act accordingly, saving the company time and money.

When working in a corporate world, finding ways to get the work done can often be challenging. To stay relevant in today’s ever-changing modern world, it is extremely crucial and important to excel in multiple skills. While educational qualification does play an important role in the application process for a new job or managerial role, it no longer holds center stage. What truly matters is the holistic skill set possessed by the applicants. In fact, it is not just about the job application. And even in the real world, people must know certain skills which could help them in countless circumstances.

A skill set is an inextricable combination of experience, abilities, knowledge, and personal qualities that one has to develop by striving hard. A person with multiple skill sets must be an expert in all the acquired knowledge, as perfection requires attention. Skills can be developed at any stage of life, be it from academic life or childhood. All it demands is one’s complete devotion and dedication. Multiple skill set can provide significant benefits. Apart from increasing one’s knowledge about the local industry, it can also help groom the personality.

Daniela Asaro Romanoff is the best example of a person with multiple skills. Being a journalist, physicist, and writer, she never narrowed her options. Raising the bars high, Romanoff set exceptional examples for the world of art. From a very early age, she was always an all-rounder. She has shown her expertise in painting, writing, sculpting, song composition, and sports as well, which can be quite visibly shown in the expert opinion articles she hs published online that encapsulate the strategy of football games.

Romanoff has also written several articles and interviewed various athletes in football and motoring. Being multilingual, she is proficient in Spanish, French, and Italian and has published many books in different languages. Her book, “Tombees en amour pour la douleur” is originally written in French and has been translated to English, titled Male and Female, ‘He Created Them’ The book received impeccable appreciation from across the globe. Nothing in the world of art is left untouched by her. She has shown her talent in poetry as well. The subject of her poems covers different aspects of life, giving the audience more space to relate.

Besides being a physicist and working in a physics laboratory, she sculpts and paints on the subjects of sports and physics. Some of her most aesthetic work samples include The Hollow Man, Russian Flower, and Golden Monasteries. Her work has enabled her to become an active member of ACRN (Amis Cathédrale Russe de Nice), a cultural association in France. Her love for culture is presented in her writing and paintings, and the way she expresses things captures the attention of many people worldwide.

Romanoff is the best example of breaking all the stereotypes about possessing multiple professions. She has displayed a very strong character in empowering women all around the world and making them understand that they can do whatever they put their minds to. Her artistic journey has inspired many people to become flexible in their career choices. Moreover, she can be a role model when it comes to diversifying or expanding one’s skill set.

How To Be Strong for Your Kids After a Divorce

Dealing with a divorce is hard enough, but when you have children, it can be even more difficult. You not only have to deal with your own pain and heartache, but you also have to be strong for your kids. They are probably going through a lot of emotions themselves, and they need you to be there for them. Here are some tips on how to be strong for your kids after a divorce:

Acknowledge their feelings

Your children might feel scared, confused, or even angry after a divorce. Acknowledge their feelings and let them know it is okay to feel that way. Let them express themselves and talk about their feelings. It might even be helpful to get them some counseling so they can talk to someone else about what they are going through.

Spend quality time with them

Make sure you spend some quality time with your kids every day. This can be tough if you are working full-time as well, but it is essential to carve out some time for just them. You can play games together, read together, or take them out for ice cream. Just let them know that you love them and are there for them.

Don’t badmouth the other parent

Do not badmouth the other parent in front of your kids. Even if you are angry with them, try to stay positive when you are around your kids. They need to have a good relationship with both parents, and if you say negative things about the other parent, it will only make things harder for them.

Be consistent with discipline

Divorce can be chaotic for kids, so you need to try and keep some sense of normalcy in their lives. One way to do this is by being consistent with discipline. If there are rules in the house, ensure everyone follows them. This will help your kids feel safe and secure during this time of change.

Don’t forget to take care of yourself

As aforementioned, dealing with divorce can be tough, and while you might be trying to be strong for your kids, remember to take care of yourself too. Make sure you are taking time for yourself and doing things that make you happy. Whether it’s reading, doing jigsaw puzzles or playing games at Sloto, find what relaxes you and takes your mind off the stress of divorce.  You cannot be strong for your kids if you’re not taking care of yourself first.

Seek out support

We all need a shoulder to lean on from time to time, and this is especially true after a divorce. Seek support from friends and family members who can help you through this tough time. You can also join a support group for people who are going through a divorce. This can be a great way to meet other people who understand what you are going through and can offer advice too. Talking about your feelings can help you deal with them better.

Sometimes, you do not even have to speak; having a loved one close to you makes all the difference.

Don’t rush into a new relationship

It might be tempting to jump into a new relationship after a divorce, but it is best to take things slow. You need time to heal emotionally before you start a new relationship. Plus, it is not fair to the person you are dating if you are not ready for a serious relationship.

Therefore, to be the best version of yourself, focusing on taking care of yourself first is important. Only then can you be ready to bring someone else into your life and love them wholeheartedly.

Give yourself time to grieve

Divorce is often a loss, and it takes time to grieve the loss of your marriage. Allow yourself the time and space to grieve the end of your marriage. Do not try to bottle up your feelings; they will only come out later in a more destructive way.

Avoid negative talk

After a divorce, it is easy to get caught up in negative talk. You might find yourself complaining about your ex or talking about all the ways your life is better now that you are divorced. But this kind of talk only brings you down and makes you feel worse. Instead, try to focus on the positive aspects of your life.

Be easy on yourself and your kids

Lastly, remember to be easy on yourself and your kids during this time. Divorce is hard for everyone involved, so be kind to yourself and your children. Things will get better with time, so try to focus on the positive aspects of your life and the love you have for your children.

Wrapping up

It is normal to feel overwhelmed after a divorce, but remember, your children depend on you. They need you to be strong for them during this difficult time. Remember, you cannot pour from an empty cup, so ensure you take care of yourself first.

Seek out support from friends and family members, and do not hesitate to join a support group. Avoid negative talk, and give yourself time to grieve the loss of your marriage. Be easy on yourself and your kids, and things will eventually get better.

Christian Cook’s Sophomore Novel Growing in the Gray Promises to Hit Close to Home

Contrary to popular belief, it is not debut books that launch an author’s career but their sophomore novels. An opportunity to surpass readers’ expectations, this next foray into the simultaneously exciting and painful process of writing and publishing allows authors to establish their names. With the recent release of Growing in the Gray, Christian Cook has managed to do just that and more.

Originally hailing from the suburbs of Detroit, Christian Sandra-Elise Cook is a Columbia College Chicago graduate with a decade of experience in the marketing and business sectors. Considering her previous career and Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, it could have been a surprise for some that she dipped her toes into the world of young adult literature. However, such a move makes sense in light of her deep-seated love for writing. The Growing in the Gray author initially discovered her depth as a writer by taking various creative writing courses and using the city of Chicago as her campus. But it would not be until she got accepted into a writing program in Paris that the spark she had for writing would ignite. Her first time outside of the United States, Paris opened Christian’s eyes to new experiences and a slower pace with which to embrace life, making her question life as she understood it. Eventually, writing became an avenue for this world traveler to explore the answers.

Christian Cook

Christian’s journey so far is reflected in what she writes. Her sophomore novel, in particular, perfectly demonstrates how she pulls on her past to propel her characters forward. A book that centers around Krista Clark and her upper-middle-class family, Growing in the Gray is an exceptional read that invites readers to hear the heroine’s most intimate thoughts as she navigates a tumultuous period in her life and ponders on choices that may irrevocably change her future.

With her family facing the threat of economic downfall being the last thing she needs on her plate, Krista has to deal with the struggles of calling a new city her home, work on ditching her lame high school label, and try to figure out what she wants from a guy who can’t seem to give a clear signal to save his life. But, just when she thinks she has her i’s and t’s dotted and crossed by moving to Chicago, she learns that not everything goes as planned.

A coming-of-age novel, Growing in the Gray hits close to home and bears a story that resonates with the lived experiences of people across the world. It looks into the rough road everyone embarks on while growing into adulthood. With its relatability, it is nothing short of deserving that the novel debuted in the top 20 of all books on Amazon in the YA Fiction category the week following its release.Christian’s Growing in the Gray will not be the last of the page-turners from this promising author. In the future, readers and industry peers alike can expect more standout novels from the passion-fueled personality.
