Sneak peek into the life of Naomi Lievens – Modeling career to Motherhood, and mental health tips

Supermodel and mental health advocate Naomi Lievens is a curious soul and a woman of many interests. Once she believes the process of learning has slowed down, she moves on to something else. That’s probably the reason why she has explored many avenues. As far as her professional life is concerned, she opened her own bar in Belgium, worked as an architect for a couple of years, helped create a dating application in Greece, and worked as a yacht broker as well as a creative director for a fashion magazine in Paris. And the list goes on and on.

Rather than a conversationalist, Naomi is more of an observant. This trait has helped her understand people even when they have difficulty actually communicating. This gift has worked wonders for her as a mental health advocate, providing support to people in their times of need. Naomi Lievens had a turbulent childhood. At the age of 4, she lost her parents and moved to Malta to live with her uncle.

Six years down the lane, her uncle also passed away, and she moved to live with her aunt. Because of the unsettled early years, adjusting was hard, and she ended up in an institute. While most people would have ended up in worse circumstances, the institute was a great support for Naomi. She learned her major life lessons there and attained some balance. However, she struggled with depression during her teenage years. In fact, her mental health was affected so much that she even attempted to take her life, not once but twice.

To earn a living and survive in the world, she started modeling when she was 15 years old. It was not something she wanted, but she had great potential to become a supermodel and, most importantly, needed the money to make ends meet. From there, it was no looking back for Naomi Lievens, and she ended up working with some of the industry giants like Armani, Karl Lagerfeld, Guess, Dolce & Gabbana, Philipp Plein, Dior Beauty, Vanity Fair, Vogue, Elle, etc.

As she rose to fame and became an inspiration for young girls, she realized she should put her influence to good use by helping people understand the importance of mental health. “I noticed that you can create a lot of awareness for the right causes when you have a bigger audience to communicate with. I know from experience that I could help people in a different way than others because I developed a deeper understanding of pain and loss,” revealed Naomi.

She further went on to explain, “People can go through the same trauma and react totally differently to it. Hence, everyone has a different way of understanding and healing from their experience. You learn so much from listening to other people and observing how they talk and act. I see the blockages and the distractions people have put in their heads and guide them to see the deeper issue and work with them on how they can resolve these issues.”

It won’t be an understatement if we say that she has come a long way from her depression and has embraced life to its fullest. While she was on top of her career and supporting people with mental health, she got pregnant. It was an unexpected pregnancy for her as she was infertile for ten years because of a tumor in her brain that was overproducing hormones. In the beginning, it was hard for her, but with a supportive partner and great work opportunities, she found a work-life balance.

“Initially, I was so upset as my whole life had to be put on hold. It took me some time to accept it, but I am very happy with my choice as I see this baby as a miracle, and I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. Besides that, I haven’t felt this excited about anything in a long time, and the love I feel for my son is beyond anything I have ever felt before. It is my first true love,” shared Naomi enthusiastically.

Her secret to success, which she even instills in others, is to stop asking for permission or validation from others. Growing up, she lacked self-confidence and constantly needed others to push her for things she wanted in life. Due to this, she missed a few opportunities, which she now regrets. Even today, she encounters many young kids with the greatest talents. But due to the people around them as well as the societal pressures, they hold themselves back and suppress their abilities to shine through.

She believes everyone should find a passion they can completely lose themselves in and flourish. That is one thing that makes them unique. However, there should be a balance; in terms of what we do, what we think, eat and feel, these all require awareness and a sense of equilibrium to grow and prosper in life.

Naomi Lievens is a real-life inspiration for everyone. From battling mental health to becoming a mental health advocate, from a self-conscious young girl to a successful supermodel, and from struggling with health issues to embracing motherhood, Naomi teaches us how to fight tough situations and emerge victorious in challenging times. Indeed, she is a supermodel in the truest essence of the word.

Daniel’s Leather is not your number 1 choice, it’s your only choice

Leather products have always been a hot item for the fashion industry as they never go out of fashion and look classy as well. For decades, leather jackets and boots have been considered trendy chic. In fact, our movies and fashion shoots have constantly endorsed this phenomenon. Fast forward to the present, and various celebs, such as Kim Kardashian and Megan Fox, are spotted wearing leather dresses and looking absolutely stunning. However, like every other fabric, leather has evolved over time, and now more than ever, you will find on-trend outfits like a dress, pants, or a stylish coat.

Different forms of leather are admired at large, but advanced technology has made it possible for leather apparel to be available in various textures and stunning colors. Goods made from leather have been considered luxury items and a must-have in both men’s and women’s wardrobes. However, it was initially believed that leather apparel would be suitable only in the winter season, but thanks to the latest technology, lightweight leather is being produced. This means that you can flaunt it not only in summers but also wear it all year round.

Understanding the fashion needs and trends, Nadeem Waheed launched his line of leather and fur under the banner of Daniel’s Leather in 1995. Little did he know that his passion for fashion would lead him to the most sought-after leather brand in the USA. Daniel’s Leather started operations from Orchard Street in New York City, known as the center for leather goods. Starting from a place with huge existing competition is challenging for any business; however, Daniel’s Leather soon stood out due to its innovative designs, bold colors, and, most importantly, affordable prices.

What makes Daniel’s Leather unique is not just its customer service and designs but also the fact that it offers tailor-made leather and fur accessories. This came as a natural evolution and something people had been craving for quite some time: customized designs in luxury prêt. Vibrant color schemes, supple leathers, exotic fur trims, and plush sheepskins to be customized and fitted to your needs and desires is what the business is known for. In fact, the brand has gained immense popularity in a short span of time owing to its chic creations, colors, and styles. Moreover, cookie cutter, mass-produced styles have been replaced with cutting-edge inventive, and novel designs. Whoever comes to the store just falls in love with the stunning creations.

Thousands of loyal customers have been shopping at Daniel’s Leather season after season, becoming more of friends than mere customers. So, it won’t be wrong to say that the brand’s reputation has grown due to its loyal clientele. Since they don’t advertise, the growing customer base is purely on a grassroots level and through word-of-mouth. They think of it as their own, and they are the ones that bring more people in.

Daniel’s Leather has put in a lot of effort to reach where they are today. Currently, they have a list of celebrities who wear and endorse the brand and tend to go back time and again for fashionable options. Names like Cardi B, DJ Khaled, Diddy, Remy Ma, and Andrew Dice Clay are a few stars amongst many others who have proudly shared and endorsed Daniel’s Leathers. Not just that, their leather pieces have been featured in shows like Saturday Night Live and Power.

The brain behind the brand, Nadeem Waheed, aims to rule the fashion world when it comes to leather and fur. Apart from that, his goal is to ensure that anyone thinking of doing a photoshoot or making a music video presenting a cool and hip crowd would want to be seen in one of Daniel’s Leather’s fabulous creations and fashionable leather pieces.

Daniel’s Leather has worked extremely hard to not be just people’s first choice but their only choice. And for that, a lot of thought has been put into every item, creativity, statement designs, mix and match of fluorescent colors, and the best part is that the prices will not put a dent in your wallet. The brand is at a point where its competitors have started copying the designs. Nadeem Waheed doesn’t mind other brands copying his styles but just wants them to use excellent quality skins so that the end product doesn’t look a rip-off or cheap.

Whatever Daniel’s Leather creates has a lot of love involved in the process, and that is quite evident in the designs as well as its service. Where businesses usually take three to five years to start making a profit, the brand started churning profit just a year after its launch. If you want a luxury leather or fur item for your wardrobe that is hip and on-trend, you now know where to find it!

Simu Liu rips Quentin Tarantino on Twitter

Simu Liu responded to Quentin Tarantino’s comments about Marvel movies on Twitter, explaining Marvel’s impact on underrepresented communities.

Statement

The Kim’s Convenience actor recently shared his thoughts on the Kill Bill director’s opinion with a lengthy post on social media.

“If the only gatekeepers to movie stardom came from Tarantino and Scorsese, I would never have had the opportunity to lead a $400 million plus movie,” Simu Liu tweeted.

“I am in awe of their filmmaking genius. They are transcendent auteurs. But they don’t get to point their nose at me or anyone.”

“No movie studio will ever be perfect,” he continued.

“But I’m proud to work with one that has made sustained efforts to improve diversity onscreen by creating heroes that empower and inspire people of all communities everywhere.”

“I loved the ‘Golden Age’ too,” added the Shang-Chi actor. “But it was white as hell.”

Tarantino

Simu Liu’s comments are in response to a recent podcast interview featuring Quentin Tarantino.

During the interview, the director criticized Hollywood’s reliance on Marvel.

According to him, Marvel movies are the only thing the fans or the studio are passionate about.

Tarantino also said that movie actors aren’t movie stars because “it’s the franchise characters who become stars.”

Despite his comments, the Kill Bill director clarified that he doesn’t hate Marvel movies, explaining that he doesn’t love them.

Criticism

The podcast interview isn’t the first time Quentin Tarantino has slammed Marvel, and he wasn’t the only one.

Simu Liu also named Martin Scorsese as one of the filmmakers who had issues with Marvel movies.

Due to their comments about Marvel, both directors were criticized for their work.

Martin Scorsese has since dismissed questions about the lack of female actors in his films.

Meanwhile, Tarantino has been criticized for his movies’ lack of diversity and violence against women.

Simu Liu and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings grossed over $432 million worldwide during its box office run in 2021.

Director Daniel Cretton will develop a sequel, and Simu Liu will return as Shang-Chi.

Chris Hemsworth Shares a Shocking Health Discovery in the Production of ‘Limitless’

In the health documentary Limitless, Chris Hemsworth gives an insight into one crucial part that almost didn’t make it into the final cut.

Hemsworth, famous for Thor, underwent a series of physical exams and screenings while filming his new show for National Geographic. The series follows him joining forces with scientists and medical professionals.

Furthermore, these episodes are all about reducing stress and improving performance. Not only does it help you slow down the aging process but also increases your energy levels by leaps-and bounds.

In the fifth episode, doctors reveal that Hemsworth carries two copies of the APOE4 gene which makes him genetically predisposed towards Alzheimer’s disease.

“I was offered a version of the episode where we didn’t talk about it. And for the exact reason you are mentioning now, I thought, ‘No, look, if this is a motivator for people to take better care of themselves and also understand that there are steps you can take – then fantastic,” Hemsworth stated.

“My concern was I just didn’t want to manipulate it and overdramatize it. And make it into some sort of hokey grab at empathy or whatever for entertainment.”

Hemsworth revealed they originally planned to unveil his test results on camera. But it never happened because of what they found.

“Peter Attia, who is the longevity doctor in that episode, and overseeing a lot of the show, called [show creator] Darren [Aronofsky] and said, ‘I don’t want to tell him this on camera. We need to have an off-side conversation. And see if he even wants this to be in the show,’” Hemsworth stated.

“It was pretty shocking because he called me up, and he told me.”

Gene in Hemsworth

The gene suggests that Hemsworth may be eight to 10 times more prone towards future Alzheimer’s disease.

“The show, which initially was an exploration of longevity and, of course, should be fun, became even more relevant and important for me. Even more poignant than I ever thought it would be,” he said.

“It was a really good catalyst to dive into everything I needed to be doing in either the prevention front or the management front. Or however you want to classify it. It’s not a pre-deterministic gene, but it is a strong indication.”

While the diagnosis isn’t surprising for Hemsworth, it was still a heartstopping discovery. The actor’s grandfather is currently suffering from the disease.

“Most of us, we like to avoid speaking about death in the hope that we’ll somehow avoid it. We all have this belief that we’ll figure it out,” he stated.

“Then to all of a sudden be told some big indicators are actually pointing to this as the route which is going to happen. The reality of it sinks in. Your own mortality.”

Experiments Reveal Crucial Info

In a September interview with EW, Hemsworth revealed that he found a newfound appreciation for the human body’s mental and physical beauty. This is due to his experience while filming Limitless.

“It was one extreme after another. A series of scientific experiments where I was the guinea pig,” he stated.

“I was just in awe of the individuals I was working with who did this day to day. But also, I gained a beautiful understanding and appreciation for how incredible the human body and mind is, and what potential we all have.”

Limitless is now available to watch on Disney+.

Welsh Soccer Star Gareth Bale Earns Praises from LAFC Figures After Signing with the Club

After winning it all and running the end of his contract with Real Madrid, Welsh soccer star Gareth Bale is set to make his MLS debut with LAFC after announcing he signed with the club.

LAFC officially announced the signing of Gareth Bale, who signed a 12-month contract with the option to extend through 2024.

Although he had initially earned an annual salary of $34.90 million with the Royal Whites of the Spanish capital, Bale will be earning no more than $1.3 million with LAFC.

“Gareth is one of the most dynamic and exciting players of his generation,” said LAFC Co-President & General Manager John Thorrington. “Adding a player who brings his talent and experience at the highest levels is an incredible opportunity to improve our Club.”

“I am grateful to Gareth’s management team who helped make this happen,” he added. “It is clear that Gareth is highly motivated to continue to win trophies, and we are elated that he has made the choice to join LAFC and help lead us in our ultimate goal of winning championships.”

LAFC Lead Managing Owner Larry Berg echoed Thorrington’s sentiments, praising the player’s arrival to the club.

“Bringing a player and a person of Gareth’s caliber to LAFC is a historic moment for Los Angeles, MLS, and the game in the United States,” said Berg. “On behalf of the entire LAFC community, I am honored to welcome Gareth, his wife Emma, and their children to LA, and I am confident they will fall in love with our incredible city.”

After finishing his contract with Real Madrid, Bale initially was touted to return to his hometown club, Cardiff City. However, the club is currently playing in the second-tier league, a prospect that would have been a downgrade for a player of Bale’s caliber.

Instead, the Champions League winner opted for a move to MLS.

“I am extremely excited for this move to LAFC,” said Bale. “This is the right place for me and my family and the right time in my career, and I cannot wait to get started working with the team and getting ready to win more trophies in Los Angeles.”

Gareth Bale is the second high-profile European signing for the club, right after Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini confirmed his move to LAFC earlier in June.

The pair had previously faced off in the Champions League, which saw Bale triumph over his future teammate in the 2016-2017 Final.

Bale and Chiellini will officially join the team on July 7 when the Secondary Transfer Window opens. They are also tipped to make their debut against city rivals LA Galaxy.

Jason David Frank confirmed dead over the weekend

Jason David Frank was a famous actor in the 1990s for playing Tommy Oliver in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series.

Of all the franchise actors, Frank was one of the most active, if not the most active, Power Ranger veterans.

But on November 19, Jason David Frank died at the age of 49.

The news

Jason David Frank died in Texas this weekend.

His manager Justine Hunt confirmed the actor’s death.

Details of Frank’s death have not been released.

However, Hunt asked fans to respect the privacy of the actor’s family and friends “during this horrible time as we come to terms with the loss of such a wonderful human being.”

Walter Jones, the first Black Ranger and Frank’s co-star in Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers, took to Instagram to express his grief and wrote:

“Can’t believe it…. RIP Jason David Frank. My heart is sad to have lost another member of our special family.”

Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers

Jason David Frank made his career as the Green Ranger in Mighty Morphin’s Power Rangers.

The show debuted on Fox Kids in 1993 and ran for three years as audiences marveled at costumed superheroes battling in kung-fu.

Frank’s character initially starts as an enemy of the Rangers with a limited appearance.

However, his charisma won the admiration of fans, and he became a series regular.

Frank went on to appear in other Power Rangers shows and movies, including:

  • Zeo
  • Turbo
  • Wild Force
  • DinoThunder
  • Ninja Steel

Other ventures

Jason David Frank is also famous for his martial arts.

He was inducted into the World Karate Union Hall of Fame and the Black Belt Hall of Fame.

Frank has also performed numerous stunts in the Power Rangers franchise.

He had an eighth-degree black belt in karate and studied taekwondo, judo, Brazilian jiu-jitsu and Muay Thai.

Jason David Frank began practicing karate at age four and received his first black belt when he was only twelve.

In 1994, he founded several martial arts schools.

Toso Kune Do combines different styles of martial arts.

At the end of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, he met Kyoshi Rick Herbster, who later became his business partner for many years.

The two ran the Rising Sun Karate Academy, where Frank taught until his death.

Frank then made his MMA debut in 2010 at the Lonestar Beatdown event in Houston, Texas.

He managed to beat Jonathan “the Mack Truck” Mack in the first round.

Eras Tour Breaks Ticketmaster Records, Causes Traffic on Presale

Swifties have endured a tough week.

Taylor Swift fans who were eagerly awaiting the general public sale of her upcoming Eras tour will have to wait. On Thursday, Ticketmaster revealed that it is canceling the presale.

“Due to extraordinarily high demands on ticketing systems and insufficient remaining ticket inventory to meet that demand, tomorrow’s public on-sale for Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour has been canceled,” the company said.

The news is on top of an alarming week for many Swifties. Initially, tickets were available to users who passed the qualifications in Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan program. However, minutes into the process, people started complaining about site errors and lengthy waiting times.

According to fans, they waited for over five hours.

Ticketmaster has revealed that buyers wanting to purchase tickets for shows on the West Coast will only be able to do so from 3 p.m., rather than 10 am as originally scheduled. It includes shows in Los Angeles, Seattle, Las Vegas, and Santa Clara, California.

As another addition to the unfortunate events, the Capital One Cardholder rescheduled its presale from Tuesday to Wednesday. Unfortunately, the sale would also only be available for a few hours.

The Ticketmaster statement tried to explain the chaos. Moreover, it revealed that Swift’s tour broke a world record for highest-selling number in one day. It sold 2 million tickets on Tuesday night.

Eras Tour

To be verified and participate in the presale: Ticketmaster pre-registered individuals “to help manage high demand shows – identifying real humans and weeding out bots. Keeping bots out of queues and avoiding overcrowding helps to make waits shorter and on sales smoother.”

The company reports that they have received 3.5 million pre-registrations. And they sent codes to 1.5 million people in line while the rest waited patiently.

“Historically, working with Verified Fan invited codes has worked as we’ve been able to manage the volume coming into the site to shop for tickets,” Ticketmaster stated.

“However, this time, the staggering number of bot attacks as well as fans who didn’t have invite codes drove unprecedented traffic on our site, resulting in 3.5 billion total system requests – 4x our previous peak.”

The company continued: “It usually takes us about an hour to sell through a stadium show. But we slowed down some sales and pushed back others to stabilize the systems. The trade-off was longer wait times in queue for some fans.”

Ticketmaster further explained that considering the traffic volume they had this week, Swift must perform in more than 900 stadium shows to address the demand.

“While it’s impossible for everyone to get tickets to these shows, we know we can do more to improve the experience, and that’s what we’re focused on,” the company said.

The Swifties’ flocking came after Swift set additional dates on the Eras tour, not only once but twice. She wants to set a sum of 52 dates in the US today. The pop star is yet to announced international tour stops.

Republicans don’t take kindly to Trump’s campaign run

Republicans in the House and Senate are not thrilled that former President Donald Trump launched his third presidential race this week.

Trump’s presidential bid announcement came Monday.

Capitol Hill’s response showed a drop in support after years of disputes and scandals.

Moreover, the lack of interest in the Republican Party stems from its disappointing midterm performance.

Interviews

A few dozen Republicans from both chambers were asked about Donald Trump’s presidential bid.

However, very few expressed enthusiasm for the 2024 race.

Instead, many have pinned their hopes on another emerging candidate or in a broader field so voters can choose someone who appeals to wider audiences.

South Dakota Sen. Mike Rounds was among those who wanted a new candidate, saying:

“I want someone who is going to unite our party. That’s how we win elections. A reasonable person who would unite the party.”

Idaho Rep.Mike Simpson echoed his sentiments, saying:

“Let’s see who runs. Personally, I don’t think it’s good for the party.”

“I think his policies were good,” Simpson added. “I just don’t need all the drama with it.”

One-time allies

Many of Trump’s former allies shared Mike Simpson’s sentiments.

Most pointed out how alienated the former president has become on Capitol Hill, especially after Tuesday’s election.

When asked if Donald Trump was in the running again, Texas GOP Rep. Dan Crenshaw responded: “Still?”

He was questioned if he would join Trump, and Crenshaw responded, “Hell no.”

“None of us are entitled to these jobs,” said Trump ally and North Dakota Republican Sen. Kevin Cramer regarding the 2024 bid.

“He’s certainly not entitled to it. And I certainly wouldn’t be making any decision (to endorse) this soon.”

Moreover, according to Cramer, the party would have higher chances of winning if more candidates were running in 2024.

“I think we’re all better if there’s more of them up on the stage.”

Meanwhile, others began fielding competing candidates.

GOP Sen. Jerry Moran said he was focusing on Mike Pompeo, a Kansan colleague and former secretary of state, and Sen. Tim Scott, a Republican from South Carolina.

“I think we have lots of Republicans who are interested in being our nominee for president,” said Moran, referencing Trump.

“And I’m interested in letting the American people make this decision. And I’m interested in seeing those people rise to the top.”

Republican Florida Representative Maria Elvira Salazar avoided questions about supporting Trump, saying instead:

“Let me tell you something: I do know the next Republican presidential contender is coming from Florida.”

Blame and distance

Several Republicans on Monday accused Donald Trump of pushing half-hearted candidates.

They also highlighted his obsession with his 2020 election loss, undermining the case they tried to file against Democrats that year.

South Dakota Senator John Thune of South Dakota said pursuing the 2020 election was not a winning strategy.

Surprisingly, many agreed with his opinion.

“I think looking forward is always a better campaign strategy,” said Sen. Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia.

“Looking back to 2020 obviously didn’t work out.”

However, a moderate-leaning GOP lawmaker offered a harsh take on Trump’s presidential bid, saying:

“It’s like we’re on season 7, 8 of ‘The Apprentice.’ People are sick of it, they want to turn the channel. Let’s find something else.”

Meanwhile, Trump’s longtime critics, like Utah Sen. Mitt Romney, want no involvement with Trump’s third run.

Penguin Random House merge with Paramount dropped

Penguin Random House is one of the oldest and best-known book publishers in the United States.

It initially planned to merge with Simon & Schuster, but Paramount recently canceled the deal.

Paramount also decided not to appeal the recent federal court decision blocking the publishers’ merger.

The news

Penguin Random House is a subsidiary of German media giant Bertelsmann.

According to a Paramount SEC filing, Penguin is required to pay the parent company of Simon & Schuster a $200 million penalty.

The $2.17 billion proposal was announced in November 2020.

Last month, US District Court Judge Florence Pan ruled that merging the book publishers would unlawfully restrict competition.

In 2021, the Justice Department filed a lawsuit to block the merger, one of the Biden administration’s first significant antitrust actions.

Simon & Schuster

The parent company of Simon & Schuster says that it is still looking for buyers in a statement.

“Simon & Schuster is a highly valuable business with a recent record of strong performance,” they wrote.

“However, it is not video-based and therefore does not fit strategically within Paramount’s broader portfolio.”

Meanwhile, Simon & Schuster President and CEO Jonathan Karp wrote an email saying the news was still fresh.

“And at this point, I have no specific information to impart about what will happen in the coming months,” said Karp.

The lawsuit

According to the lawsuit, the settlement would have given the merged company more control over how much its writers were compensated.

Penguin Random House and Simon & Schuster are currently among the prominent book publishers in the United States and members of the “Big Five.”

Additionally, the lawsuit argues that fewer bidders would be available for the highly anticipated books.

The lower the bidders, the greater the potential blow for authors seeking to have their work published.
