Which is actually kind of funny. She also married a man named Nicholas Coombe. There are a few Coombes in the US, and they’re mainly concentrated in New England around the greater Boston area, where George Farragut was from. For whatever reason, it appears that Ms Allen believes she is related to Farragut / Armistead families and maybe other families found in New England and upstate NY.

It is undoubtedly true that all Armistead families are related to each other. The Armistead of New England and upstate NY can trace their ancestry back to William Airmsted and his wife Elizabeth, who came from England before 1680. However, I have not found any connection between the Armistead family lines in New England and upstate NY with Thomas Farragut, born in RI before 1640.

The connection with Allen’s family also appears to be bogus.
