The final trailer for the upcoming Black Adam movie has been released, shedding more light on the Justice Society of America roster.
Although the cast and characters have been known for a long time, the latest trailer provides more insight into their chemistry as a team.
The trailer
The trailer begins with a montage of Black Adam’s past and accompanies the voiceover of his son’s sacrifice, after which Black Adam destroys a city.
The DC anti-hero describes his power as a curse born of anger when soldiers surround him before opening fire.
The Justice Society of America is represented in a mansion believed to be owned by Aldis Hodges Hawkman.
The group discusses the threat Black Adam poses, and Hawkman is revealed to be on the phone with Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller.
After their conversation, the superhero group takes off in a jet that emerges from the mansion’s garden.
Hawkman and Pierce Brosnan’s Doctor Fate speak to Black Adam to welcome him back without violence.
The trailer then cuts to show Adam’s strengths and he takes on the Justice Society.
The battle leaves the city in tatters before an unidentified figure emerges from the sea, who reappears for another short clip with Hawkman.
The trailer ends with the same voiceover telling Black Adam that he has the power to destroy or save the world.
The Justice Society and possible villains
The upcoming film will feature the big screen debuts of some of DC’s many superhero teams.
Hawkman and Doctor Fate are among the most popular members of the Justice Society of America, while Atom Smasher (Noah Centineo) made his Arrowverse debut.
Quintessa Swindell’s Cyclone will also make her media debut.
Adrianna Tomaz, also known as Isis, is played by Sarah Shahi. Meanwhile, the film’s main villain, Sabbac, is played by Marwan Kenzari.
What we know about the movie
The film follows Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam who was imprisoned for nearly 5,000 years after attaining the power of the gods.
Sabbac will likely be the common enemy of the Justice Society and Black Adam.
The official synopsis for the film reads:
“In ancient Kahndaq, Teth Adam was bestowed the almighty powers of the gods.”
“After using these powers for vengeance, he was imprisoned, becoming Black Adam. Nearly 5,000 years have passed and Black Adam has gone from man, to myth, to legend.”
“Now released, his unique form of justice, born out of rage, is challenged by modern day heroes who form the Justice Society: Hawkman, Dr. Fate, Atom Smasher and Cyclone.”
